Through partnerships with international development agencies and organizations, these initiatives have provided essential skills training, educational opportunities, and sustainable livelihood support for youth, returnees, refugees, and other vulnerable groups.

One of the key initiatives focuses on sustainable livelihood opportunities by providing skills training and job creation for youth under 30, equipping them with the tools to build sustainable futures. Tailoring skills training programs have also been implemented, enabling participants to produce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which addresses both employability and public health needs.

Hano Academy has worked on accelerated education programs to help children and youth who have missed out on formal education. The Bar ama Baro project provides these learners with opportunities to catch up on their studies and either re-enter formal education or pursue vocational pathways.

Another major initiative is managing a business start-up incubator as part of the EU-REINTEG program, supporting the establishment of new business ventures. Additionally, STEM education has been a core focus, with the establishment of mobile STEM labs for secondary schools, enabling access to science and technology resources in underserved areas.

In collaboration with the EU-IOM joint initiatives, Hano Academy promotes community cohesion and sustainable livelihoods through projects like beekeeping and deforestation prevention. Returnees have also benefited from TVET skills training, providing them with essential skills for reintegration into society. Further, initiatives like the Mogadishu Job Fair have connected job seekers with employment opportunities across industries.

Efforts to improve the livelihoods of refugee returnees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) have included vocational skills training and job placement services. Through various projects, refugee returnees, host communities, and IDPs have gained self-reliance and reintegration support, enabling them to rebuild their lives and contribute to their local economies.

Hano Academy has also contributed to capacity building by delivering training on human rights, gender, and child protection to civil servants in Somali ministries. Leadership, management, and technical training programs have been provided to strengthen the effectiveness of government personnel. Additionally, technical training for planning department staff has been carried out to enhance their skills in effective governance.

STEM education is another major pillar of Hano Academy's work, with programs introducing mechanical and software engineering to STEM trainees in Somali K-12 education. The Somali STEM Summit has been a key event in promoting innovation and education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Through partnerships with UNDP, and other international organizations, Hano Academy has facilitated STEM skills training across multiple cities and secondary schools in Somalia. The institution has also collaborated on media design workshops and contributed to the rehabilitation of TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) courses, fostering entrepreneurship and vocational skills development in Somalia.

Entrepreneurship training initiatives have been implemented to provide business skills to aspiring entrepreneurs and support them in launching sustainable ventures. This has been complemented by TVET training programs that equip individuals with technical skills to enhance their employability.

Moreover, ICT training has been offered to refugee returnees, IDPs, and host communities, helping participants acquire critical skills for the job market. Business start-up kits have been provided to women receiving TVET training, empowering them to launch their own ventures. Through the support of organizations like Spark through Shaqodoon, entrepreneurship skills have been developed in young people through coaching, vocational training, and job placement programs.
